this. I'll get ...2.Thanks kari for the heads up on
this. I'll get into more details
of the chaturthi tithi to give
more details of the auspicious
lunar day.

Every 4th day of all the lunar
month is known by the name
chaturthi. Similary all the other
days of the lunar month asthami
(8th day), Navami (9th day),
Panchami (5th day), Dasami(10th
day) have their own significance.
Each lunar day is called as "Tithi". These days totalling
15 repeat on every fortnight and
the 2 fortnights in the month is
known as "Sukhla" and "Krishna"
which in english is bright and
dark fortnight. The division of
the fourteen days in sanskrit is
called as "Paksham". The chaturthi
tithi which falls on all
the "sukhla" paksham is highly
favorable for ganapathi worship
(pooja's, meditation, fasting
etc.,) and the worship gains the
blessings from "Siddhi Vinayaga".

On the other hand "krishna" paksha
chaturthi tithi is also auspicious
for ganapathi where fasting is
done followed by shodhasa (16)
pooja and recitation of
the "Atharvashirsha" in 21 rounds.
This custom will gain the
blessings of the "VignaVinayagar".

The chaturthi tithi which falls on
the bhatrapada month of every year
is very highly favourable for
ganapathi worship which also known
as "Ganesha Chaturthi".om tat sathttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10259882532506483832noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-28576754.post-85651857089619739572006-09-05T17:31:00.000-04:002006-09-05T17:31:00.000-04:00sooper!!!sooper!!!Maayaahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12788090569924094286noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-28576754.post-65331462729869077032006-09-05T08:07:00.000-04:002006-09-05T08:07:00.000-04:007.Karumbu vinayagar, Vinayaka of this temple holds...7.Karumbu vinayagar, Vinayaka of this temple holds a sugarcane with his two upper hands in the shape of a bow.
